“Trouble in Paradise”

Tess is between a rock and a hard place. Her aunt with whom she lived has died, medical bills have devastated her bank account, she’s three months behind in rent. Out of the blue – at least, so it seems – she’s offered a job at the most fabulous health resort in North America: Heaven Falls.

Sure she’s suspicious, but what’s a single mom to do? And besides, the Garrison men don’t seem all that unpleasant. In fact, there’s something about Jason, a self-made millionaire, who is trying to find his creative, purposeful self, that’s actually kind of appealing.

The Garrison family sets out to welcome and charm her. Tess discovers she has a talent for marketing and sales. She loves Heaven Falls, and, best of all, so does her delightful ten-year-old daughter. For the first time in her life Tess feels they have a home.

That is, until the specters of blackmail, buried secrets, and unpleasant motives behind the initial invitation to the fabulous estate begin to emerge. Undercurrents of anxiety and fear surface. The initial heaven Tess had discovered begins to crumble around her.

This book has a strong plot and a climactic ending with many mysteries unfolding right up to the end. It’s an exciting romantic adventure, starring two strong-willed, likable protagonists. There is plenty of glamor, intriguing information about the inner workings of a health resort, and heart-pumping action as Tess and Jason chase her kidnapped daughter across Europe.

The offbeat courtship between Tess and Jason, and the romance that ignites, grows, is thwarted, and ultimately triumphs will leave readers thinking about them affectionately long after they turn the last page.
